Blueberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), a genus of Vaccinium of azalea family is a shrubby perennial plant.For a long time, extract from the berries and the leaves has been used for treatment of scurvy, urinary diseases and diabetes. Physiological function of Vaccinium myrtillus was found by British airforce pilots during World War II who told experiences that one who habitually had blueberry jam could see objects better even during the twilight flights.

COMPOSITION OF BLUEBERRY EXTRACT

As biologically active substances, Vaccinium myrtillus anthocyanosides (= VMA), are known. There are five different kinds of anthocyanosides, each combined with one of three different saccharides. Thus, 15 different VMAs are identified in total.

In Europe and U.S.A., blueberry extract is widely used as medicine for blood vessel troubles, diabetes and blood circulatory diseases, and for eyes.

BILBERON-25 is extracted and purified anthocyanosides of fresh Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) fruit.
It contains more than 25% of anthocyanidins calculated on dry matter.
